Indian-Origin Data Scientist Fired Amid Social Media Outrage for Alleged Exploitation of Charity Food Banks
Mehul got a hefty salary, but he uploaded a video to Instagram that went viral and led to him getting in trouble for taking free food.

Indian-Origin Data Scientist Fired for Allegedly Exploiting Charity Food Banks: After a video surfaced showing Mehul Prajapati teaching his followers how he obtained "free food" from food banks designated for Canadian students, the Indian-origin data scientist was fired from his job at TD Bank.
Despite receiving a hefty salary, Mehul uploaded a video to Instagram that went viral and led to him being condemned for taking free food meant for students.
A user with the username Pagliacci The Hated (@Slatzism) shared the video on social media site X, provoking a heated debate.
This user proudly uploaded this video showing how much "free food" he gets from charity food banks while working as a bank data scientist for @TD_Canada.
His video shows him picking fruits and vegetables, pasta and canned goods all sourced from charity food banks, and telling his viewers how to save "hundreds of bucks" monthly on groceries.
His actions outraged X users who pointed out that food banks are intended for the poor and the disadvantaged.
A user later revealed that Prajapati had been terminated from his TD Bank position. An email from TD Bank authorities states that the bank has taken note of the incident and dismissed the individual concerned, and that he is no longer employed by the bank.
The user tweeted, "Update: the food bank bandit was fired." An email from the bank stated that the "individual named in the video no longer works at TD."
