Putin Will Wage War on NATO if Ukraine Loses: Former U.S. President Mike Pence said on Thursday that American soldiers will have no other options but to fight Russian invaders if Russia defeats Ukraine.
The caution came from the former deputy of Donald Trump at an event in Brussels. Pence's also plea to the officials to increase the funding for Ukraine military aid.
The outline of U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson's international aid package was released on Wednesday. The four-part plan divides funding to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan into discrete bills.
A portion of the aid would be subject to loan conditions and demands pertaining to military planning and supervision.
"If Russia wins against Ukraine, I have no doubt in my mind the time would come that he would cross the border [into Europe], that our men and women in uniform would have to fight," Pence said.
Pence further added, "It would not be very long before he crossed the border that our men would have to go fight under Article 5 of the NATO treaty, under which an attack on one member is an attack on all." Pence said.
He also said that it won't be long enough before we will see conflict in the Taiwan Strait or in the South China Sea.
He also added, "Our NATO allies today are in a better position to [support] Ukraine over the last two years because of those increases in defense spending than they would have been otherwise."
