Vehicle Collides with Truck in Chhattisgarh Highway: Several people were injured in a truck accident in Chhattisgarh's Bemetara district on Monday.

An accident occurred after a parked car was struck by a truck returning from a family gathering.

A road accident near Kathia village late Sunday night resulted in the deaths of five women and three children.

According to PTI, the deceased were Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6) and Twinkle Nishad (6).

According to the officials, the victims were returning after attending a family function in Tiraiyya village.

An investigation was conducted by district officials at the scene.

The injured have been taken to a hospital for treatment, said Bemetara Collector Ranveer Sharma. Later, four critically injured people were taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur for treatment.

Dipesh Sahu met the injured at the hospital where they are receiving treatment.
