This specific temple has a special status for pilgrims who in a customary perform ritual for Lord Ganesha which involves applying red powder.
This temple was constructed in 1646 during the Mughals, however, the temple was rebuilt in 1760 by Maratha Sardar Mahadji Scindia the King of Gwalior. He also sowed a peepal tree in the temple premises and the tree stands today as a history of the temple.
One must reread the history of the temple that has been attacked and attempted to be demolished many times and still remains standing today to protect its ancient roots and cultural significance.

In this auspicious occasion and on the 10 days of celebrations, the temple offers lord Ganesha fifty six types of puja and other rituals are also performed. There are many important rituals and among them is the abhishek wherein the idol is washed with sugarcane juice.

Sitting on a golden chair made of sandalwood, the idol has not lost its identity as the greatest object of worship with ardent and sincere prayers from the devotees.
From 5 a. m. to 1 p. m. and then from 2 p. m to 10 p. m. , this temple is a simple car ride away: from MG Road go to Raja Mandi market and from there to Mansa Devi Gokulpura street. Today, it remains one of the most revered shrines which had left its history and traditions being a place for pilgrimage for a numerous amount of people.
