The over-59-minute-long video partially accessed by India Today TV featured Khurana saying he was about to commit suicide since he did not have the capacity to pay his wife and her family a sum of Rs 10 lakh as he was currently undergoing divorce proceedings.

"I am about to commit suicide because I have been extremely tortured by my in-laws and wife. We have already filed for a mutual divorce on certain agreed terms and conditions. When it comes to mutual divorce, there are certain terms and conditions, which we have mutually agreed upon," he said in the nearly two-minute video accessed by India Today TV.
He alleged a manipulation of conditions decided upon such that his wife's relatives forced him to comply without regard to "beyond my scope".
"They are asking for another Rs 10 lakh, which I don't have any capacity to pay off. I asked my parents to pay for it. They have already paid enough because of me," he said in the video.

"We have signed a bond in court. We have committed to respect the court and agreed to fulfill those conditions within a stipulated time period that is usually allocated by the court for 180 days. We are approximately 90 days through the stipulated time period and another 90 days are left," Khurana further said.
Khurana, 40, co-owner of a bakery called 'For God's Cake,' committed suicide at his residence in north Delhi's Model Town on Tuesday. By torturing him, parents of his wife had even dared him to do suicide in their divorce proceedings. His couple was going through divorce proceedings.

Puneet got married in 2016, and the major bone of contention within their divorce negotiations was the bakery. Also, he and his wife co-owned a café called 'Woodbox Café', which shut down a few years ago.
