After Vetoing Him for Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna Praises ‘Kamaal’ Ranveer Singh for Dhurandhar: ‘Actor Acha Hai’

He might have been on record about his dissatisfaction of the idea of Ranveer Singh taking on his most famous role, Shaktimaan, but Mukesh Khanna acknowledges that Ranveer is a fine actor. To the extent that, in another video the veteran actor commended Ranveer on his Kamala act in Dhurandhar.

On Saturday, Mukesh Khanna uploaded a new video on his YouTube channel concerning Dhurandhar and more. Giving a review of the performance of Ranveer in the movie, he has also given credit to him, a move that earned the actor recognition in the video. “I want to praise Dhurandhar’s hero Ranveer Singh. Aap kahenge ki aapne unko Shaktimaan ke liye mana kiya hai. To sahab, maine bhala Shaktimaan ke liye mana kiya ho par actor woh acha hai, maine hamesha kaha hai (You will say that I have said no to him for Shaktimaan. And yes, I have, but I have always said he is a good actor).”

The actor added, “Iss film me kamaal ki unki energy hai, kamaal ka unka josh dikhta hai. Unki brooding eyes, uske poore role me rawaangi hai (In this film, he has amazing energy and spirit. His brooding eyes are good, and his entire portrayal has sincerity).”

What was the Shaktimaan row?

Shaktimaan is a 90s TV character which was popularized by Mukesh Khanna in the legendary show. The superhead was to be adapted into a film several years ago but the producers declared Ranveer Singh as the new Shaktimaan. But this was not the case because Mukesh Khanna, the owner of the character denied Ranveer the role on the basis of his image (off-screen).

All about Dhurandhar

Dhurandhar is a spy thriller led by Ranveer that was directed by Aditya Dhar. The movie also features the playing roles of Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Danish Pandore. The movie already has become a box office hit with an approximate of ₹800 crore grossed across the globe.
