Actor Urmila Kothare’s Car Accident in Mumbai: 1 Labourer Killed, Several Injured

Actor Urmila Kothare’s Car Accident in Mumbai: A car belonging to a popular Marathi actress Urmila Kothare hit two labourers in Mumbai's Kandivali, killing one and severely injuring the other. Kothare and her driver also sustained injuries in the crash.

The incident occurred when Urmila was returning from filming near Poisar Metro station. The braking of the car unfortunately failed to stop it from hitting both Metro workers. One died on the spot, while the second one was transferred to a nearby hospital, where he is still receiving medical attention.

According to police, the car was going at high speed when the accident happened. It said that the timely inflation of the airbags in the car saved the actor from serious injuries.

A case has been fit against the driver, and an investigation has been launched by the police.

Urmila Kanetkar has a name beyond boundaries of regional cinema. She has appeared in many of the box-office fantastic hits such as 'Duniyadaari,' 'Shubhmangal Saavdhan,' and 'Ti Sadhya Kay Karte.

The actress made a return to television after 12 years with a popular show "Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe."

About the same time comes this accident which follows another recent tragedy involving a minor in Mumbai. On the 21st of December, a six-year-old boy died when the airbag inflated in a car crash in Navi Mumbai. As the airbag inflated, the boy, who was seated at the front of the car, suffered a fatal neck injury.
