Accenture Faces Backlash Online Following Bengaluru Techie’s Suicide

Accenture Faces Backlash: The engineer, Atul Subhash, 34 years of age, is now dead and has created a storm of outrage on social media, raising uncomfortable questions about men justice in India today. The senior IT professional had left behind a 24-page suicide note and a 90-minute video before killing himself when all charges were rained down on him by his estranged wife, her family, and one family court judge of relentless harassment.

"My last messages accuse names including my wife, Nikita Singhania; mother-in-law Nisha Singhania; brother-in-law Anurag Singhania; and uncle Sushil Singhania as the people for what I had to endure," wrote Atul Subhash in his messages. He accused Reeta Kaushik, the family court judge in Jaunpur, of aggravating his problem. An FIR was registered in Bangalore police against the accused under sections 108 and 3(5) of BNS against the complaint of Subhash's brother, Bikas Kumar.

There have been many outpours of anger against Accenture, the firm where the wife of this man is employed. Social media commentators have called for her resignation, and one has been making comments on X, “Dear Accenture, you have 24 hours to fire the murderer of Atul Subhash. Your time starts now.” Another user demanded, “Accenture, remove this woman from whatever position she holds.”

The company's counter to all the public stampede was to lock its official X account from public access. However, for some reason, the company's Indian account remains operational but inactive. Accusing Accenture's behavior of shunning responsibility, advocate Ashutosh Dubey of the BJP exclaimed on X, “So Accenture has locked its account in an attempt to avoid addressing the issue with Nikita Singhania. This isn’t just silence; it’s complicity,” and demanded the company either sack her or face bitter public wrath.

The issue is wider than just disturbed marriages and contested rights for men. Here is what the journalist Nupur J. Sharma had to said, “The wife should be arrested and thrown in jail. The judge who sat by and laughed, mocked, and refused to deliver justice should be prosecuted and impeached. What is wrong with women downplaying the death of Atul Subhash?” She also criticised existing laws, stating, “The laws that force men like Atul Subhash to end their lives as the only way out of extortion and harassment need to change.”

The emotional and financial burden Legal cases have taken their toll on the cost of a life. Allegations in the suicide notes and video revealed nine cases filed by the wife against the husband, with demands that include high alimony. With one account allegedly belonging to him, this one posted its last message tagging Elon Musk and Donald Trump as social media users expressed solidarity with Subhash, , stating, “I will be dead when you read this. A legal genocide of men is happening in India currently.”

Dear @Accenture I hope you will co-operate in nabbing Nikita Singhania. How come she is still your employee? #AtulSubhash
