6 Soldiers Injured in Landmine Explosion in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri
During patrol duty, Khamba Fort was accidentally stepped over due to the landmine explosion by one of the military personnel.

6 Soldiers Injured in Landmine Explosion: On a Tuesday, at least six Army personnel suffered injuries during a landmine explosion in a forward village of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.

10.45 a.m. occurred in the Nowshera sector near Khamba Fort when troops on patrol duty are believed to have accidentally triggered a landmine as one of the soldiers stepped on it.
The injured soldiers were rushed to hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.

The news item further stated that landmines are placed in forward areas near the Line of Control as part of an anti-infiltration system. The plough gets displaced due to the landslides caused by heavy rain, because of which these accidents take place.
