4 Earthquakes Jolt India and Asia Within an Hour: Concerns were raised throughout central and South Asia on Sunday morning after four earthquakes occurred within one hour in parts of India, Myanmar, and Tajikistan. Residents of Central Asian cities and Himalayan towns fled buildings in terror as a result of the tremors, which reminded many of the region's unstable tectonic terrain.
There were no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties caused by the new quake, one of the strongest of hundreds of aftershocks from the March 28 temblor. As of Friday, the death toll from that quake was 3,649, with 5,018 injured, according to Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, a spokesperson for Myanmar’s military government.
