Zelensky Calls Trump After Putin Agrees to 30-Day Partial Ceasefire: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump talking on the telephone, discussing a recent Trump-Putin conversation over a partial ceasefire in Ukraine. The two leaders also assessed next potential steps as diplomatic efforts continued.
White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino said on a post on X that Trump was doing the call in the Oval Office.

In the expectation of hearing detailed remarks regarding Trump's call with Putin, Zelensky pointed out the repeatedly called for stronger US support. In the limited ceasefire agreed upon by the leaders of the US and Russia, both countries will have to suspend attacks on energy infrastructures as part of a greater ceasefire agreement in Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine. However, instead, the Russian leader rejected the offer - suggested by Troump to have a much larger ceasefire, that was 30 days long - which directs the ongoing rivalry of the war sides.
The White House's Mike WaltzGarrison announced this over social media; US technical and Russian technical teams will converge during the week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to discuss progress and most likely furnish the latest update on the expansion of the ceasefire. "Today, Putin effectively rejected the proposal for a full ceasefire. It would be right for the world to respond by rejecting any attempts by Putin to prolong the war," Zelenskyy responded on Tuesday.
"Sanctions against Russia. Assistance to Ukraine. Strengthening allies in the free world and working toward security guarantees. And only a real cessation of strikes on civilian infrastructure by Russia, as proof of its willingness to end this war, can bring peace closer."
