“You Are the Best”: During the G7 Summit in Canada, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. A clip from their meeting at the Group of Seven Summit has gone viral on social media in which Prime Minister Meloni can be heard praising Prime Minister Modi.
In the viral clip, PM Modi and Giorgia Meloni exchange niceties and inquire about each other's well-being while shaking hands.
At the time of exchange, Meloni was heard telling Modi that he was "the best" and she is “trying to be as you”.

The two leaders subsequently took to X to acknowledge the strong relationship between India and Italy.
"India’s friendship with Italy will continue to get stronger, greatly benefitting our people!" wrote Modi on X.

PM Modi at G7 Summit
Modi is attending the G7 Summit 2025 in Canada and on his first day of the trip, met with newly elected Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
In a briefing to the press following the meeting Carney discussed Modi and India's participation in the G7 Summit, "is a reflection of the size of the Indian economy, the dynamism of the Indian economy, Indian technology, the leadership position India plays in a host of venues from G20 and beyond."

The G7 Summit 2025 is Modi's 6th consecutive meeting in the group of seven as well as Modi's first visit to Canada in 10 years.
PM Modi's trip to Canada is during a three-nation project. The first stop was in Cyprus, where the Prime Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was presented with the Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III which is the highest civilian order of the country.
After leaving Canada, the Prime Minister will travel to Croatia.
