X (Formerly Twitter) Down Globally Due to Data Center Failure: Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, is currently facing a widespread outage worldwide that began on Thursday, May 22, and continued into Saturday.
The outage affected users in different areas, including the UAE, with users around the world reporting they were unable to access the app, login, send messages, or receive direct messages.

Despite the outage, Downdetector, which tracks service interruptions in real time, recorded the highest number of user complaints on Saturday. According to Downdetector's reported outage graph, at 16:37 UAE time, user complaints peaked at 419 reported outages.
On May 23, as of 17:32 pm, Downdetector recorded 887 user reports around the world, and the number had risen to 25,756 by 17:02 on Saturday, demonstrating the number of users impacted around the world.
Meanwhile, in the UAE, Downdetector reported 87 complaints as of 19:22 on May 23, and that number rose to 349 by 17:37 on Saturday.
Widespread impact across devices
According to Downdetector’s graph, in the UAE, 68% of user complaints were about the app, 24% were for login issues, and 8% were on the website.

Users await full recovery
By the evening of Friday, X (formerly known as Twitter) restored some services, but users were clearly still experiencing intermittent service issues, and on Saturday, experienced another major outage with thousands of users affected worldwide.
The latest wave of outages started around 5:45 PM IST and several users reported login errors, app issues, and website access problems.
Earlier in the day X's official engineering team tweeted they were aware of the issues, the original problem was caused by a data center outage.
The engineers have resolved a number of early issues. However, the platform does not have complete functionality, but the X team has assured users that they are working to return to full functionality.
