World Food Safety Day: If you consume contained or dirty food it might lead to various diseases such as food poisoning, diarrhea, and many other dangerous food-borne diseases. That’s why food safety is very crucial to consider while we consume food whether outside or at our home.
Another factor that plays a crucial role when talking about food safety is hygiene when you consume street food, you will notice that they don’t follow proper hygiene.
The place where they cook or keep their masala is dirty which causes bacteria, viruses, and parasites to infect them and when we eat this type of food it brings various diseases.
Thus to avoid contaminated foods and to spread awareness about clean and hygienic food, we celebrate World Food Safety Day on June 7 to teach people the importance of keeping food standards high.

History of World Food Safety Day
The United Nations passed a decision in 2016 with its two agencies, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to teach people why it is important to keep food safe.
In 2017, the resolution was agreed by the Conference of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) when it met in the 40th session. Later, next year the agencies decided that World Food Safety Day will be observed on June 7.
Importance of Food Safety
As per the reports from the WHO, around 4,20,000 deaths occur due to food-borne diseases among which 30 % are of children under 5 years old.
It was observed to spread awareness about the drawbacks of not following food regulations and preventing food-borne diseases.
If we have access to food safety then it will improve good health and save from affecting people's lives. To ensure that different types of food are safe, they are tested and studied by various agencies.
World Food Safety Day also teaches people about food safety and prevents them from getting sick from contaminated food.

Follow Hygiene
Along with following food hygiene you also need to keep in mind personal hygiene such as washing your hands and the food and keeping the utensils clean.
All these hygiene are crucial as bacteria and viruses from your hand and kitchen tools can be spread on your food So, you need to keep personal hygiene and even keep the kitchen and other places clean where food is served.

It is very important to make sure that food is cooked correctly when it is being prepared. When you cook food properly, you kill all the germs and other harmful microorganisms in it.
