When Amitabh Bachchan Said Aaradhya Resembled Aishwarya Rai at Birth: ‘Aishwarya’s Face, Abhishek’s Features’

Aaradhya Bachchan newborn resemblance story: When Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's daughter Radhya Bachchan was born in November 2011, a week after Aishwarya Rai was discharged from the hospital in Mumbai.

As the media was so interested and the Bachchans wanted to protect their privacy, they held a press conference at their office ABC Corp in Mumbai's Juhu area.

Speaking for the family, Amitabh Bachchan thanked the media for respecting their privacy during such a crucial time.

When the reporters asked about their newborn daughter whose name hasn’t been decided yet. Amitabh said that their first trip with the newborn baby was to Pratiksha which is their favorite place and very dear to their hearts because it was their first home.

Amitabh told Rediff, “We first took her to Pratiksha because that is our first home. After taking blessings from my ma and babuji (Amitabh’s parents), we have come to Jalsa.”

Abhishek said, “We have a small mandir in Pratiksha, built by my grandfather. That was the first place we took her."

Speaking about Amitabh Bachchan on Aaradhya’s resemblance to Aishwarya, Amitabh Bachchan added with a smile that the newborn Aaradhya Bachchan looked like Aishwarya Rai, adding, “I think the child looks like Aishwarya but as you know, a child’s face changes everyday. Still, I want to believe that she has Aishwarya’s face," Amitabh said. “But a few people in the house believe that there is some resemblance with Abhishek.”

Amitabh Bachchan also added that Abhishek and Jaya Bachchan always wanted a girl, he further added, “Jaya has given all her time to the child and she is very happy that a daughter has been born. Abhishek also wanted a daughter. I have said I don’t mind anything happening, just let it happen. That’s it."

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai began their relationship during the shooting of Umrao Jaan in 2005-2006 and they tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a big wedding ceremony.
