Vande Bharat Metro: Ministry of Railways Prepares for Trial Runs in July
The bus can be a four-coach bus, an eight-coach bus, and so on. On the busiest routes, it can be a 16-coach bus.

Ministry of Railways Prepares for Trial Runs in July: Indian Railways will start testing short-distance Vande Metro trains in July, then sleeper Vande Bharat trains in August.
A Vande Metro train will cover 100-250 km, and a Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover over 1,000 km.
Around 124 cities will be connected by Vande Metro trains, including Lucknow-Kanpur, Agra-Mathura, Delhi-Rewari, Bhubaneswar-Balasore, and Tirupati-Chennai.
Each Vande Metro train will have 12 coaches, large automatic doors, and side seats. They're designed for high acceleration and frequent stops.
In multiples of four, it can be a four-coach bus, an eight-coach bus, and so on. On the busiest routes, it can be a 16-coach bus.

These AC trains will carry more unreserved passengers between large urban centres and satellite towns using existing railway tracks.
During the current fiscal, the national transporter plans to run 50 push-pull variant Amrit Bharat trains, which will cater to the needs of long-distance passengers at a very affordable price.
These trains have one engine each in the front and rear. They were operated between Delhi and Ayodhya for the first time.
Officials say Amrit Bharat trains will soon have cone-shaped noses. By 2026, there will be 400 of these trains.
According to the official, these will be available to unreserved or general category passengers who prefer to commute by train daily.

As part of the Centre's railway modernization plan, Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the Vande Metro in 2022-23.
There were concerns raised earlier by experts that the Vande Metro might not be able to achieve its goals since it runs on the same saturated track infrastructure as the railways, as opposed to metro trains and regional rapid transit systems (RRTS).
It is planned to seamlessly integrate Vande Metro trains into the railway schedule, keeping in mind the special nature of these short-distance trains.
The plan also includes Vande Bharat chair cars for intermediate distances, Vande Bharat sleepers for long-distance travel, and Amrit Bharat trains for general and sleeper class long-distance transit.
According to official sources, Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be launched within 100 days of the election results.
Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) in Bengaluru is developing the sleeper version.
