Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Blitz Ends With Fiery Send-Off by England Pacer After Whirlwind Knock

Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14) is going to go strength to strength after the southpaw batter displayed a prowess in hitting the ball in the 2nd Youth ODI between India U19 and England U19 at Northampton on Monday.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Blitz Ends With Fiery Send-Off by England Pacer After Whirlwind Knock

India U19 vs England U19: Left-handed batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi (14) is going to go strength to strength after the southpaw batter displayed a prowess in hitting the ball in the 2nd Youth ODI between India U19 and England U19 at Northampton on Monday. India were bat-first by England captain Thomas Rew, with the youngster making 45 runs off 34 balls in the process.

Suryavanshi made 45 runs and used 5 fours and three sixes. He threatened to remove the game out of the hosts. But he got disappointed later in the 11th over when he was bowled by pacer Jack Home. The left handed batsmen were depressed after his dismissal.

The young English pacer also taunted by giving Suryavanshi a hot farewell telling him to move back to the dressing room.

The response by Home was acceptable albeit the southpaw hitter gave him a working over. Suryavanshi made 18 runs in his eight balls out at the crease. But the last laughs were of England pacer, who ended up taking the wicket of the wicket of the Indian opener.

India started off the innings badly as their skipper Ayush Mhatre was dismissed in the first over of the game, and it was Suryavanshi and the caption of the No.3 batter Vihaan Malhotra who took them closer to salvaging their innings. The right handed batsmen got out on the very first ball he was facing.

After AM French had rattled his stumps Mhatre returned to the dressing room.

Suryavanshi impresses in 1st ODI

Suryavanshi also surprised everyone with his knock in the inaugural youth ODI as he scored 48 runs on only 19 balls. His aggression at the top assisted India to run down 175 with details.

A three-four and five six innings led him to four runs before he was bowled out by Ralphie Albert in the first ODI.

The left-handed batsmen made himself a household name when he played with the Rajasthan Royals team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. In fact, he made a hundred against the Gujarat Titans where he scored the fastest-ever century by an Indian in a T20 tournament.

Suryavanshi made 252 runs over seven matches in the IPL 2025 season at 36 average and a strike rate of 206.55. His highest score was 101 vs the Gujarat Titans, who were led by Shubman Gill. Suryavanshi also played in the U19 Asia Cup in India before the IPL.
