After the more than 20 minute warm and friendly conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump over phone, it appears that both leaders are headed towards an early summit meeting to lay the road-map for India-US bilateral ties.

Although the dates are still being finalised, there is a good chance that the two leaders will meet in Washington next month during the artificial intelligence summit in France from February 10–12.
The two presidents seemed to be in agreement during the phone call as they talked about bilateral and international issues, with the Israel-Gaza and Ukraine wars at the top of the agenda.

According to top sources, the conversation was between two friends and took off from the time when Trump was the 45th President of US.
The two leaders discussed QUAD in the Indo-Pacific context, and work is underway to finalize the dates for the summit later this year in India. While President Trump talked about India buying American-made security equipment and fair trade, India also believes in fair trade and will buy 31 Predator MQ 9B armed drones from the US at a cost of USD four billion.
As the 47th President fulfils his electoral pledge to prevent illegal immigration to the United States, President Trump has also assured the media that Prime Minister Modi will act morally.

By forcing Colombia to accept illegal immigrants or face trade tariffs and a restriction on US visas, President Trump demonstrated his commitment to halting illegal immigration.
Conversations between the senior leaders and important figures of the incoming administration have been quite constructive, with both sides determined to strengthening bilateral cooperation in all domains. This makes it clear that India-US ties are poised to take off in Trump 2.0.
