North East Police Got Success, Shastri Park Murder Case Culprit Arrested

Yaseen age 22 years s/o Saleem r/o K-230, Near Jama Masjid, New Seelampur, Delhi has been arrested by Special Staff, North East District. A 7.65 mm pistol with 3 live rounds were recovered from his possession.

Shastri Park Murder Case Culprit Arrested: As a result of arresting a notorious criminal, Yaseen S/o Saleem R/o New Seelampur, Delhi, age 22, team Spl. Staff/NED solved the sensational murder case registered in FIR No. 165/24, u/s 302/307 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act, PS Shastri Park, and recovered one sophisticated semi-automatic pistol as well as three live cartridges. It was found that the accused was associated with criminals in the area and that he was previously involved in four other criminal cases as well.

It was received at PS Shastri Park on 26.03.24 a PCR call concerning a shooting near Buland Masjid. On arrival, a police team found that the victim had already been rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where he had been declared dead. In addition to 2 empty shells and one live round, the victim was identified as Mustakim, S/o Mustaq R/o Gas Godam Road, Shastri Park. He used to work as a salesman in a garment shop in Chandni Chowk.

Dr. Tirkey, Dy. Commissioner of Police North-East said that a complaint has been filed by Sohail Khan, 22 years old, of Shahnoor R/o New Seelampur. He claims that he married Ishrat, 23 years old, four years ago. They had a daughter about 1.5 years ago. In November 2023, they divorced. Ishrat works at a bar in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, UP. She wanted to remarry Yaseen.

Sohail and Mustakim found Yaseen and Ishrat together when they visited Ishrat at about 00:45 a.m. During an altercation, Yaseen fired around three rounds, Sohail dove, and Mustakim was shot in the chest. After firing, Yaseen fled.

A blank case FIR No. 165/24 was registered at PS Shastri Park in accordance with Section 302/307 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of the Arms Act.

Dr. Tirkey, Dy.Commissioner of Police North-East said that the NED operation wing was drafted in during the investigation to assess the gravity and nature of the incident and to nab the accused as soon as possible. A dedicated team led by Inspr. Rahul Adhikari, IC/Spl. Staff/NE and Inspr. Yogesh, IC/AATS/NE, which included SI Sukhbir Singh, SI Sushil Rawat, SI Pramod Baisla, ASI Amit Tyagi, ASI Upendra Singh, ASI Rajeev Tyagi, ASI Sanjeev, HC Deepak Chauhan, HC Sushil, HC Vijay, HC Sachin Dev & Ct, and others. Under the supervision of the ACP/Operations and under the overall supervision of the undersigned, Vikas was formed and instructed to solve the case and find the culprit as quickly as possible.

The team mounted technical surveillance, and thoroughly scanned and analyzed CCTV footage of the vicinity and possible escape route of the assailant. Several raids were conducted at various possible hideouts of the accused in Delhi, U.P., and NCR based on the gathered information. Local sources were also consulted for intelligence.

As a result of the diligent work of the team, Yaseen S/o Saleem R/o New Seelampur, Delhi, aged 22 years, was nabbed during a raid in Pili Mitti, Welcome based on secret information. From his possession, a sophisticated semi-automatic pistol and three live cartridges were found.

A sustained interrogation revealed that accused Yaseen had admitted to his crime, wanted to marry Ishrat, and did not like Sohail visiting his ex-wife at odd hours repeatedly. On a fateful day, he had a heated argument with Sohail on the same issue and fired multiple shots on him, but Sohail ducked the shot and a bullet hit Mustakim. A verification revealed Yaseen had previously been involved in four other criminal charges.
