Influencer Arrested for Traffic Violation and Setting a Barricade On Fire: When he parked his vehicle on the Paschim Vihar flyover while filming a reel, a social media influencer disrupted traffic. An investigation revealed that he had allegedly set fire to a barricade in another reel.
The accused was identified as Pradeep Dhaka (25), a resident of Nangloi, for damaging government property.
Jimmy Chiram, deputy commissioner of police (outer), said the video circulated on X showed a modified golden car blocking traffic on the Outer Ring Road.
They identified the driver and caught him. The car, along with a few fake plastic weapons found inside, has been seized. Police found another video that allegedly showed him setting a barricade on fire. A second case was filed for resisting official duties and damaging government property.
According to the officer, "the offender is reportedly a YouTuber who uploaded the videos. We emphasize the importance of adhering to traffic rules and obtaining permissions before shooting such videos."
Paschim Vihar East police station fined him $36,000 for violating traffic rules and regulations and also impounded the vehicle under 39/112 MV Act, 100.2/177 MV Act, and 184MV Act.
Dhaka has been charged at Nihal Vihar police station as the second video where he burnt the barricade was shot there.
