Tragic Diwali: Two including a teenager killed, one injured in firing during Diwali celebrations in Shahdara’s Bihari Colony. A 40-year-old and his 16-year-old nephew were killed and a 10-year-old boy was injured in a firing incident during Diwali celebrations in Bihari Colony in Delhi’s Shahdara area on Thursday. The gruesome incident was caught on camera.
The deceased have been identified as Akash and Rishab, his nephew. Krish, the 10-year-old son, was injured in the firing.

Five bullets were fired at them, said the police. One minor has been arrested for questioning. Preliminary investigation has revealed that it was a case of personal enmity, said the police.
“The juvenile is the mastermind behind the case…In this incident, Akash, Rishabh and Krish were shot. Akash and Rishabh have died. In this case, one juvenile has been apprehended. Prima facie it appears that there was a dispute between the juvenile and deceased Akash over Rs 70,000. There is a record of previous criminal involvement with a charge of attempt to murder against the juvenile. The accused were planning to target Akash for the past 15-17 days," DCP Shahdara, Prashant Gautam said.
Akash’s mother said a man named Lakshay used to visit their house for a few days. He came to their house on Diwali with a box of sweets and when her son was going out to burst crackers outside the house, she heard the shots.

“One man named Lakshay had been visiting our lane for the last 3-4 days. Yesterday, he came to our house with a box of sweets and urged me to receive it in my hands. At the time when my son was making preparations to burst firecrackers, two people including Lakshay came and then I heard shots being fired. Next, I saw that my son was shot…" she said.
Akash’s brother, Rishab’s father Yogesh said Akash had a financial problem with someone.
“The incident happened around 7.30 pm – 8.00 pm yesterday. Two people including my nephew who was riding a two-wheeler and an unknown pedestrian had come. My brother and son were killed by the person who was on the two-wheeler. Some time ago, my brother had a dispute over money with someone," he said.
