This Hotel 'Shaped Like A Chicken' is the Official title of the largest building in the world

This Hotel 'Shaped Like A Chicken': If you’re in the Philippines and you have a weird taste in architecture, you should check out the world’s biggest building shaped like a chicken. Located in Campuestohan, Negros Occidental, this giant structure is part of the Campuestohan Highland Resort.

It’s 34.931 meters (115 feet) tall, 12.127 meters (40 feet) wide and 28.172 meters (92 feet) long. That’s no small building. It has 15 rooms with all the amenities you need, aircon, big beds, TV, shower.

This crazy idea is from Ricardo Cano Gwapo Tan whose wife bought the land of the resort. Planning took 6 months and construction started on June 10, 2023. On September 8, 2024, it got a Guinness World Record (GWR). Another challenge for the team was the design had to withstand the frequent storms and typhoons in the area.

The team had to consider that storms and typhoons are common in the area. The building had to be able to withstand such conditions and the design was a challenge according to GWR.

Aside from the giant fowl, Campuestohan Highland Resort has a wave pool, big restaurant, cafe, 3 swimming pools, hotel rooms, Bonita huts and hundreds of dinosaurs and cartoon figures according to GWR.

GWR asked them why a chicken, Tan shared, “Negros Occidental has a gamefowl industry that employs millions of people in the Philippines. If you look at a rooster, it looks calm and commanding, imposing and strong, which reflects the attitude of our people.” He also added, “I had a vision to make something with a wow factor that can really leave a footprint of admiration to the public.”

GWR posted pictures of the hotel on their Instagram account with the caption, “Quirky hotel located in Negros Occidental, Philippines, becomes world’s largest building shaped like a chicken.”

Many users left comments on the post to share their amusement. One user wrote, “That’s NOT a chicken that’s a rooster.” Another individual added, “What part of the giant chicken is the building?” A third user commented, “I’ve always thought Guinness World Records were strange, and this post confirms it.”
