‘Terror Chose Dharma, India Chose Karma’: Rajnath Singh on Pahalgam Terror Attack & Op Sindoor
On May 7, India conducted precision strikes as part of its Operation Sindoor targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

‘Terror Chose Dharma, India Chose Karma’: In a strong message, Rajnath Singh, defence minister, said on Tuesday that while the terrorists in Pahalgam attacked civilians on the basis of religion on April 22, India attacked terrorists on the basis of 'karm' (deeds).
"Terrorists killed people in Pahalgam asking their religion; we didn't ask their 'dharm' but hit back seeing their karma," Rajnath Singh said at an event in Dehradun.

On defence strategies, Singh said that under the "bold and visionary" leadership of PM Modi, the defence sector in India has shifted from exports being an afterthought in a largely import-driven sector to now becoming a "trusted global exporter".
On April 22, terrorists who were found to have links with Pakistan opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir ,which resulted in 26 deaths who were mainly tourists.
"The world saw this change during the recent Operation Sindoor," Singh said.
According to the victims, the terrorists asked the tourists about their religion and then targeted solely Hindu men. They reportedly asked women to go and tell Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the ordeal.
On May 7, India responded to the attack with precision strikes through Operation Sindoor targeting terror infrastructure within Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

After the precision strikes, Pakistan attempted attacks on Indian military bases on May 8, 9, and 10. India retaliated firmly.
Singh stated that hostility on the ground ended after the two countries' directors general of military operations met on May 10 and agreed to halt military activities.
Earlier, Rajnath Singh said any serious endeavour on Pakistan's part to engage with India should begin with handing UN-designated terrorists Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar over to India.
Speaking to naval warriors aboard aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which is situated off Goa, Singh claimed that if Pakistan attempted anything "evil or unethical" against India, this time its action would be confronted by, "the tremendous firepower and the ire of the Indian Navy."
Singh said, "Operation Sindoor is not over yet, and this is just a pause, a warning. If Pakistan makes the same mistake again, India's response will be even harsher, and this time, it will not get a chance to recover."
