Technical Snag Reported in IndiGo Ahmedabad-Diu Flight, Aborts Take-Off

An IndiGo flight from Ahmedabad bound to Diu with approximately 50 passengers on board and several crew members was aborted during take-off on Wednesday (June 23, 2025) because of a technical problem, sources said.

According to schedule, they said the flight was to have departed at about 11.15 am at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

The airplane was in the take-off roll stage when the pilot chose to halt the aircraft in the runway.

Then, as per the operating procedure, the aircraft was informed by the pilots and returned to bay, it added.

It will go through checks and maintenance, before the aircraft can run again, it explained.

The airlines further indicated that it would be accommodating the passengers in the next flight available or refund all its money against the cancellation as the passenger wishes.

An airport official claimed that the IndiGo flight was cancelled because of certain technical problems.

He said that all the 50-odd onboard passengers and crew are safe.

It is the third incidence of the IndiGo plane in the recent past.

On 21 July, an IndiGo flight that had departed Goa Airport with 140 passengers on board landed on Madhya Pradesh Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (Indore) in an emergency because of a landing gear malfunction.

On July 17, an IndiGo flight bound to Goa that originated in Delhi made an emergency landing in Mumbai where it was diverted to after its engine had failed mid-air. An Airbus A320neo aircraft was being flown operating the flight.

Air India Flight 182 to London Gatwick was flying at 14,000 feet (4,300 m), when it crashed seconds after its take-off at the civil airport at Ahmedabad on June 12 killing 241 (out of 242-all passengers and crew members) persons on board and 19 persons on ground.
