KL Rahul Surpasses Virat Kohli | Joins Tendulkar & Dravid in Elite Run-Scoring Club | Manchester Test
Day 1 of 4th Test between England and India in Manchester was an auspicious one, as KL Rahul made a brilliant record.

KL Rahul was only the fourth Indian batsman to score a 1000 runs in Tests against England in England, surpassing the previous Indian record of 976 runs by Virat Kohli on the first day of the fourth Test at the Old Trafford, Manchester. The touring opener was flawless in his tour so far and added another feat to his name in the game in which he crossed 400 runs too in the series.

Rahul who had already hit 2 centuries in this tour, the first at Edgbaston in the 2 nd test and the later at Lord on the 3 rd one is now second only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar in the number of test runs scored by an Indian in England. Tendulkar is topping this list with 1575 runs, though Dravid (1376) and Gavaskar (1152) follow the race closely. One of the smooth batters in the Indian team Rahul has been a good show of consistency in a never-ending wrestling match.
The five-match series was 1-2 in England, and on a green-tinged surface of Old Trafford, England captain Ben Stokes tracked down a toss and decided to bowl first against India. On the Indian side, three different changes have been made in the last match since Shubman Gill was recuperating, and Anshul Kamboj got his first Test match call as he replaced the injured Akash Deep, and Sai Sudharsan took the place of Karun Nair.
All Rounder Shardul Thakur also found his way back into the playing XI as he had now come in place of Nitish Kumar Reddy.
Kamboj, a right-arm quick bowler (kamboj), is a 23-year-old player who bowled in the right-arm fast-medium style, and he had walked into the team management and selector Gautam Gambhir, during the recent training sessions.

The steadiness of Rahul in Anderson-Tendulkar trophy
Meanwhile, Rahul showed grit in the morning session of play with Yashasvi Jaiswal when the English pacers got some movement up-front. His form at the crease during the series especially in the Lord s Test where he stood his grounds in both innings as the other end kept producing wickets was impressive. Rahul has ended up being an important component of the Indian batting so far in this tour considering India has played several centuries at Edgbaston and Lord already.
India will want that to be the case as they are eager to level the series at 2-2 and run to a decider at the Oval.
