‘Takht-Nasheen Tha…’: BJP’s Parvesh Verma Quotes Habib Jalib to Mock Arvind Kejriwal
Parvesh Verma shared a viral video on X of Arvind Kejriwal saying PM Narendra Modi can't defeat AAP in Delhi in this lifetime and would need to be reborn.

‘Takht-Nasheen Tha…’: On Sunday, Newly elected BJP MLA Parvesh Verma of New Delhi cited Pakistani poet Habib Jalib to take a shot at AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Verma, a former member of Lok Sabha, shared on social media a 33-second-long video quoting Jalib's couplet: Tum se pehle wo jo ek shakhs yaan takht-nasheen tha, usko bhi apne khuda hone pe itna he yakeen tha," which translates as, "The one who sat on the throne earlier believed he was God." The couplet ridiculed Kejriwal's statement wherein he claimed that Modi would not defeat AAP in this lifetime.

The clip with the video posted by Verma opens with Kejriwal addressing a rally, where he said, “I want to challenge Modi ji, you cannot defeat us in Delhi in this lifetime. You will have to be reborn.”
The view is then modified to that of Modi's counter where he launched the AAP at "AAPda", “There is only one chorus in Delhi. We will not tolerate AAPda, we will bring change.”
Ending by pointing to the overall tally for the elections after it was all said and done, the verdict was clear: BJP had secured 48, AAP only 22.
