Chinese Woman Accidentally Roasts Newborn Chick While Trying to Keep It Warm
A woman mistakenly toasted her chick after newly hatching while trying to keep it warm with a heat lamp.

In Hangzhou, a municipality in the Zhejiang province in China, a lady accidentally roasted a newborn chick by trying to warm it under a heating lamp according to South China Morning Post. The woman called Yang after hatching the chick from an incubation machine early in January this year. To make sure that it was comfortable, she had converted to a bigger heating lamp and covered the coop with a towel to maintain a higher temperature.

However, after 30 minutes, Yang sensed a smell of something burning and went to see that the coop was on fire and the chick had been cooked to perfection. Yang reportedly expressed regret over it, stating that she felt guilty and promised to take care of another chick after buying a new egg.
In tragic incidents earlier this month in Texas, the Seguin Fire Department (SFD) responded to three fatal fires linked to heat lamps within a 48-hour period, killing many animals and causing substantial property loss, according to a report from KENS5.
The first occurred at about 6 a.m. Tuesday when a fire burned up a chicken coop. Officials said that a heat lamp keeping the chickens warm started a fire that killed all of the chickens.

A mere three hours later, SFD was summoned to a garage fire on Huber Road. Upon their arrival, the firefighters found the detached garage completely on fire. One car was burnt to ashes, and another-Jack Robinson's-was damaged. According to sources, a heat lamp that was being used to warm two dogs was the cause of the fire, which caused both animals to lose their lives.
Another on Wednesday afternoon was due to a fire in a two-story split home on Weber Road. By the time firefighters got there, one side of the house was completely engulfed. The homeowner saved two dogs but lost one in the fire. Officials for the fire said that there could be another heating lamp that could have caused the fire.
Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner stressed the need for additional precautions when using heat lamps.
