Doctors emphasise that Delhi's poor air quality has significantly worsened respiratory illnesses, making individuals more susceptible to seasonal infections like swine flu. Additionally, the transition from winter to summer has created favorable conditions for viral infections to thrive.
According to experts, the current outbreak is the worst in years. While previously the illness would last five to seven days, it is now lasting roughly ten days.
The fact that people are feeling wheezing, chest congestion and shortness of breath is another significant change. In the past, fever, cough, and cold were the typical symptoms of flu-like episodes. Compared to earlier seasonal trends, this is a significant change.
Swine flu symptoms are similar to seasonal flu, including fever, cough, sore throat, body pains, chills, and tiredness. In severe situations, it can cause pneumonia and other respiratory issues.
In severe cases, there may be respiratory failure and death, but this is rare. Most people’s symptoms are relatively mild.
