Sundar Pichai on SpaceX Starship achievement: Google CEO Sundar Pichai congratulated Elon Musk in a tweet shared on his X handle after SpaceX attained a major milestone in the mission to Mars as the boosters landed next to a huge metal landing tower, achieving a record-breaking feat.
On October 13, Elon Musk shared a video of a booster being caught by giant mechanical arms on social media platform ‘X’ and in the caption he wrote, “The tower has caught the rocket!!”
Reacting to it, Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote, “Huge congrats, have to admit, rewatched the video many times over, incredible to see!”

This remarkable catch marks the world-first success and an important step towards SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's vision of conquering Mars. This success was a huge leap towards developing rockets that can be reused multiple times.
SpaceX engineers thought it would be difficult to catch the booster on the attempt and expected that the boosters might end up landing in the Gulf of Mexico.
This magnificent success of SpaceX shows how far it has progressed since Starship's initial. The Starship vehicle rocket only eighteen months ago had a major failure when broke apart soon after the launch. But the recent massive success of SpaceX, catching the boosters using mechanical arms known as “chopsticks” shows the advancement of SpaceX in engineering and innovation ability.

The chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra shared his admiration, adding, “This Sunday, I’m happy to be a couch potato if it means I get to watch history being made. This experiment might just represent a pivotal moment in making space travel more accessible and routine.”
With this success, SpaceX’s broader ambitions are highly influenced highlighting a closer step toward making a reusable launch system that will be more affordable and frequent. This will also lower the cost of a space mission and allow the rockets to be used multiple times.
