Sourav Ganguly’s Convoy Meets with Accident on Durgapur Expressway, Escapes Unhurt
It was a near miss when a lorry overtook Saurav Ganguly's convoy suddenly and caused the driver to apply brakes suddenly.

Sourav Ganguly’s Convoy Meets with Accident on Durgapur Expressway: Accident-free, former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly, on his way to attend an event in Burdwan University, West Bengal, survived an untimely road accident.
The incident that occurred at Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway (during the downpour) found a lorry overtaking Ganguly's cavalcade and causing the driver to brake suddenly.

The rear ones will smash into the two cars behind Sourav Ganguly's car, all in succession and crash Ganguly's car as well.
According to Kamanasish Sen, SP Hooghly (rural police), two vehicles suffered minor damages, with no casualties in the accident.
It took around 10 minutes before Ganguly could move on to attend the function scheduled at Burdwan.
At Burdwan University, Sourav Ganguly said, as quoted by Hindustaan, “I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) was asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today."

Such an affiliation to a district that has produced quite a few good cricket players in past would, hopefully, see some more coming from Burdwan in years to come, he added.
Sana Ganguly's accident
In January, however, Ganguly's daughter also met with an accident after a bus hit the car that Sana was traveling in, on the Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata. Sana escaped unharmed, although the car had slight damage.
The bus from the accident scene fled, but the driver of Sana Ganguly's car managed to trail and stop it near Sakher Bazar. Police came to the scene and detained the driver's bus.
