It was reported that many people in the city believed these samosas were meat samosas and consumed them. There used to be a lot of shops across the city that fried and sold the kachha samosas prepared by the owners every day.
According to Momaya, the Sheikhs sold them as meat samosas to retail shop owners.
Yusuf and Naeem Sheikh, the owners, as well as Hanif Bhathiyara, Dilawar Pathan, Moin Habdal, and Mobin Sheikh are among those accused.
Yusuf Sheikh told the police that he joined his father's samosa business at his father's five-story facility. One room was converted into a deep freezer to keep beef and other meat.

As a result of investigations, it was found that they did not have a license. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the length of time Huseni Samosa has been selling beef-laced samosas. On Sunday, the court sent the six accused into police custody for one day.
As OpIndia reported in May 2023, one Ismail Yusuf and another accused were booked by Surat Police for selling beef-stuffed samosas and slaughtering cows.
During the time Yusuf ran his snack shop, he sold beef stuffed samosas to unsuspecting consumers in Kosadi village of Mangrol panchayat. A suspicious auto rickshaw was stopped and searched by the police, which seized 2 kilograms of beef samosas and arrested Ismail Yusuf.
“But investigations revealed that they don't even have a license to operate the shop. An investigation is underway to find out how long the owners have been selling beef-laced samosas,” Momaya said. A police investigation revealed that Yusuf Sheikh preferred cow meat to buffalo or goat meat because it was cheaper and earned him more profits.
On Sunday, the court remanded all the accused in police custody for one day as investigations are underway as to how the beef was sourced.
