Demand from some sections for the razing of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb is being spewed from here.

Senior RSS Leader Calls Aurangzeb Row Unnecessary: Monday's term thing up by a senior RSS leader, Suresh `Bhaiyyaji' Joshi, the controversy about the tomb of Mughal king Aurangzeb in Maharashtra became `moving'.
"The topic of Aurangzeb's tomb has been raised unnecessarily. He died here (in India), so his tomb has been built here. Those who have faith will go," Joshi was quoted as saying by PTI.

"We have Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's adarsh (role model); he had built the tomb of Afzal Khan. This is a symbol of India's generosity and inclusiveness. The tomb will remain; whoever wants to go will go," the former RSS general secretary added.
Speaking to reporters, Joshi was asked whether he wanted to comment about Raj Thackeray's comments about the issue concerning the tomb of the Mughal emperor.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray meaningfully implored the masses on Sunday not to get swayed with the to and fro of caste and communal hatred, and moreover, history shouldn't be looked at through a purely communal prism.
He had said that the tombs of people like Aurangzeb and Afzal Khan, who attacked the swarajya of Chhatrapati Shivaji, should be protected to showcase them as a symbol of Maratha bravery. He also asked the people to refrain from relying on WhatsApp forwards for historical information.

“Shivaji Maharaj was fighting feudalism,” he said. “Don’t look at the caste and religion of the commander or employees of historical figures, as people from all communities worked for different kingdoms. I urge youngsters to stop reading history on WhatsApp. This is a plan to divert you from the real problems of society," he had said.
The utterance came in consonance with demand from several organizations concerning the demolition of the tomb of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Earlier in this month, violence broke out at Nagpur over the rumor of a "chadar" containing holy inscriptions being burnt during the protests launching Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanding removal of the tomb.
