Scottish Couple Marries in Traditional Rajasthani Style: The wedding video has gone viral on social-media due to the hitherto unimaginable Rajasthani customs adopted by a Scottish couple for the purpose of their marriage, while, ironically, every year, couples worldwide await the beautifully majestic Camel Festival in Bikaner to celebrate their nuptials.

According to local media, Jackson Hingis and Roisin, who hail from Scotland, wanted to get married the Rajasthani way. Footage shows the groom in a shimmering sherwani, saafa (turban) on his head and sword in hand riding a richly adorned camel, towards the wedding venue.

Beginning from 2005, the Camel Festival has been hosting foreign weddings and a few palaces around the area allow for a royal wedding setting to be bestowed upon the couple on their much-awaited day.

Video wins hearts online

The wedding video won hearts on social media with many users praising the couple for the choice of opting for Rajasthani customs to tie the bond.

"Rajasthani customs and culture are loved by all even foreigners," wrote one user.

"People from other countries are promoting such traditional wedding customs while locals shy away from them," complained another.

The two-day annual festival of the camels, which is Rajasthan's pride, is observed in January, organised by the Rajasthan Tourism department. The festival is known for camel races, camel beauty contests, and acrobatics involving camels.
