Satish Golcha Appointed as New Delhi Police Commissioner
In the past, S.B.K. Singh, was posted as an add-on Delhi Police Commissioner on August 1, 2025

A day after the mysterious assault against Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, the Ministry of Home Affairs hasdesignated Satish Golcha, as the new Commissioner of Police, Delhi.
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday (August 21, 2025) appointed Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha the 26 th Commissioner of Delhi Police.

Originally a 1992-batch IPS officer, Mr. Golcha has been given the additional commission and instead of S.B.K. Singh as he took over additional charge on July 31 after Commissioner Sanjay Arora bid farewell to the post after his retirement.
Today, Mr. Golcha is the Director General of Tihar Jail and the position he took on May 1, 2024.

The senior IPS officer has served as the Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Special Commissioner (Intelligence) in Delhi Police and Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh. He has also been DCP and Joint CP in Delhi Police.
Ms. Gupta was purportedly attacked in the city by a Gujarat man at one of the public hearing programmes held in the city on Wednesday (August 20, 2025).
