Iran Potential to Attack Israel Within 48 Hours: According to The Wall Street Journal, a person briefed by Iranian leadership says the Jewish nation is preparing for a direct attack on Israel within the next 48 hours.

The Israeli-Hamas conflict has no end in sight. Iran, Israel's old rival, is also fighting Hamas in Gaza.

Iran's supreme leader is still weighing the political risks of the strike.

There have been multiple threats and intelligence assessments suggesting Iran will attack Israeli targets as revenge for the airstrike on April 1 that killed a few Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders, including two generals, at an Iranian consulate building in Damascus.

An Iranian general and six other military officers were killed in the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, in the latest escalation.

Israel has not publicly acknowledged or denied its role in the attack, which Iran blamed on Israel.

On April 1, Israeli warplanes attacked Iran's consulate in Damascus, killing six Iranian officers and the country's top military commander.

Mohammad Reza Zahedi of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed by the attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital.

As a result of the Damascus strike, Israel has stepped up its targeting of Iranian military officials who support militant groups fighting against it.

Travel advisories have been issued for Americans in the Jewish state in anticipation of a possible attack on Israel.

Two Iranian generals were killed in an airstrike last week in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and Iran has threatened to avenge them.

Although Israel has not commented on the strike, Tehran blames it on Israel.

An attack from Iran or one of its many proxy groups in the region has prompted Israel to call up additional defense units.

As a result of Israel's attack on its consulate, Iran vowed to respond but avoid further escalation of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Following the attack, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, "Israel must be punished".

Iran, however, said it would not act hastily as it pressed for a truce in Gaza.

Israel has stepped up airstrikes against Lebanon's Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia and Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) since an Iranian-backed Hamas attack on October 7.

France, Germany, the UK, and Russia also urged Iran to be restrained.

For Indians planning to travel to Israel or Iran, the Indian Government issued a travel advisory on Friday. Indians were advised not to travel to Iran or Israel until further notice by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Increasing military escalation in the Middle East has led to this warning.

Additionally, the MEA urged all Indians currently residing in Iran or Israel to register themselves with the Indian Embassies there. "They are also requested to observe utmost precautions about their safety and limit their movements to the bare minimum" the advisory stated.
