Ratan Tata in Critical Condition: On Wednesday, close sources told Reuters that India’s biggest industrialist Ratan Tata critical condition hospital in Mumbai, he was under intense care.
Mr. Tata, 86, ran Tata Sons for more than 20 years and is credited with making the company bigger and more diverse. On Monday, he said he was getting regular medical checks because of his advanced age and other health problems.
Tata is one of the biggest conglomerates in the world, with $165 billion in sales in 2023–24. On Wednesday, when asked about his condition, a representative for the company did not reply right away.
The sources, one of whom was close to the Tata family and both of whom knew directly about his health state, did not say anything else about what was wrong.
They said that Mr. Tata was taken to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai.
On Monday, Mr. Tata posted a message on his social media accounts saying that he was still feeling fine and that there was no reason to worry.

An important person in the company told Reuters that Mr. Tata isn't as involved in the day-to-day operations of the group as he used to be, but he is still advised on important choices.
The chairman of Tata Trusts, a charity run by the group, which he is interested in, however, is something he does.
His profile on the Tata Sons website says that Mr. Tata is also on the foreign advisory boards of Mitsubishi Corporation and JP Morgan Chase.
Mr. Tata became head of the family business that made everything from cars to steel in 1991. He ran the company that his great-grandfather started more than a hundred years ago until 2012.
In 1996, he started the phone company Tata Teleservices. In 2004, he went public with the IT company Tata Consultancy Services.
