Rahul Gandhi, Congress Targeting PM Modi Since 2002: BJP on Adani Row

Rahul Gandhi, Congress Targeting PM Modi Since 2002: While addressing Rahul Gandhi's breach of conduct with regard to US guidelines regarding Gautam Adani and the corruption-related allegations against him, the BJP clarified that this move was part of an ongoing initiative to vilify their leader and additionally added that all four named states in the American courts had not been ruled under the BJP.

As a press briefing address, Sambit Patra, a BJP yhankra and MP tends to convey that whatever is the truth or un- truth of the Adani group it is for the company to explain and put its defense and the company should issue such a defense.

‘Everything will follow the law,’ he added, in conflict with addressing the untrue accusations of the Congress party president against the prime minister and reiterated focusing on the allegations against the Modi government.

According to the BJP, attempts by Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and the Congress party to discredit Modi’s image since 2002 have been futile and that the Prime Minister received the highest civilian honor in a foreign nation on the very day that the opposition party was attacking him, on that occasion.

Rahul Gandhi stated during the press conference that it is the opposition who has managed to dent Modi’s image back home as far as the business circles are concerned.

Referring to the investment made by the Adani group in Congress and other supported states, Patra informed that the group pumped in Rs 25k crore and Rs 65k crore in the states of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan respectively when now their chief ministers Bhupesh Baghel and Ashok Gehlot were in charge there.

He further noted that the conglomerate put up Rs 45k crore in the DMK-governed Tamil Nadu and recently donated Rs 100 crore to Revanth Reddy the Chief Minister of Telangana for a skill development foundation.

He posed a question to the Congress party that if Adani is "corrupt", is the reason why the Congress governments are asking for investment from this U.V.N. Adani.

The Adani Group which is based in the United States, as well as in their country Adani Bethesda's not guilty plea was filed. Prosecutors in the United States contend that including Mr Kejriwal is part of the over $ 250 million (over Rs 2,000 crore in natural resources) bribing scheme of Indian government officials who would easily issue solar power projects.

This was to be avoided, the prosecutors said, because the Adani group had secured many billions of dollars for the work from banking institutions and investors in the United States who were not informed about this.

When interstate replacement or investment is involved these allegations can extend to those committed in foreign jurisdictions for corruption purposes. The Adani group however has strongly refuted the allegations.

The Congress has trouble accepting that the economy will surely take off under Modi, who, the party believes, the Indian economy can buoyant with optimism, is on course to being the third largest economy in the world.

Rahul Gandhi has made all sorts of accusations to target the Indian economy, and even on Thursday, over 2.5 crore of investors lost a lot of money as the stock market crashed, he added.

Congress leader aimed the criticism of the government for alleged graft in the Rafale jet purchase and had attacked it earlier for Covid vaccines too, he added.

Patra also disapproved of Gandhi's statement when he said that his political party has to do even the work of the judiciary, which in fact is a contempt of court.

Gandhi does not comprehend the legal and technical aspects of a situation but only parrots what he is told by a few of his aides, he further added.

The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha will now start a “drama” when Parliament’s Winter session begins from November 25 and try to disrupt its proceedings and target the economy, he alleged.
