On August 3, a 29-year-old woman was rescued by the Satara district residents after she fell into a 100-foot gorge at Borane Ghat in Satara district.
According to the reports, she was taking selfies near the Borane Ghat when her foot slipped and she fell into the gorge.
A video shared by Pune City Life that went viral on the Internet showed the Pune women being rescued by the local residents.
The video also showed that the residents, police, and home guards were standing on the edge of Borane Ghat as they threw a thick rope down the gorge with a man tied to it.

It was seen that the man was holding the girl with one hand and with the other hand he pulled the rope to move upward.
The local police reported that the woman was a resident of Pune and she suffered minor injuries and was immediately admitted to the local hospital.
However, people across the Internet praised the residents and home guards for their excellent efforts and quick response in saving the girl’s life.
The girl came to Borane Ghat in Satara district with her friends on Saturday evening when the horrific incident took place.

After this incident, the authorities have banned all the tourist areas for visitors to avoid such incidents.
Last month, a similar incident took place in Raigad where a travel influencer named Aanvi Kamdar died while recording a video near the Kumbhe waterfall in Mangaon.
While recording she slipped her foot and fell into a 300-ft gorge in the Raigad district. Rescue operations were executed by the local police after being notified by her friends but she couldn’t survive the fall.
She was taken to a nearby hospital where during the treatment she died.
