Constitution Day in India is on November 26, as on this fateful day in 1949, the Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India and launched on January 26, 1950, into a new era in the history of India. As per a PIB release, the government campaign "Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan" is about "honouring the makers of the Constitution while reiterating the vital values enshrined therein".
Hoping to commence this event, President Droupadi Murmu convened a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament and declared the commencement of the year-long birthday celebrations of 75 years of constitution adoption in India.
On Tuesday, in the Central Hall, the President Droupadi Murmu addressed the Members of both the Houses of Parliament on the occasion of supremacy 'Samvidhan Diwas' (Constitution Day), which were actually to mark the commemoration of the 75 years of Constitution adoption by India. This was the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly that put its convening in New Delhi on the 9th day of December in 1946 at the Central Hall of the old Parliament House, and as described in the website of Lok Sabha, the mesmerizing chamber was extravagantly adorned for the event and presented the novel appearance of "a constellation of bright lamps hanging from the high ceilings" and even from the brackets fixed on its walls..

A commemorative coin and stamp for the 75th anniversary of the Constitution of India have been released along with the presentation of books titled at the event, “Making of the Constitution of India: A Glimpse” and “Making of the Constitution of India & its Glorious Journey”.
Addressing Parliament, President Murmu said,"The government has given opportunities to all sections of the society, especially the weaker sections, the poor are getting permanent houses, electricity facilities are being provided, word-class infrastructure is being created on a large scale in the country…"
