PM Modi won the Varanasi seat by 3.72 lakh votes in 2014 and in 2019 he won 4.8 lakh votes with a hug jump in vote in 2019.

PM Modi Files Nomination From Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination for the third time in Varanasi on Tuesday after praying at Dashashwamedh Ghat in the morning.
A video of PM Modi filing a nomination goes viral in which Modi is seen giving the paper to the magistrate officer after which he offers PM Modi a seat.
He was first nominated for the Varanasi seat in 2014 and the second time he filed his nomination was in 2019 and both times PM Modi won the Varanasi seat.
According to NDTV, Back in 2014, Modi’s rivalry was with AAP party leader Arvind Kejriwal but unfortunately, he lost that time, he nearly got 20 percent votes of the Varansai population and in 2019 PM Modi's rivalry was with the Congress party Ajay Rai who lost the seat and got nearly 1.52 lakh votes.
On Tuesday, morning Modi visits Dashashwamedh Ghat with CM Yogi Adityanath and offers prayers there, then he visits Kaal Bhairav Temple. After offering aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, PM Modi gets on the ship and heads for Namo Ghat where he offers prayers.
Before his visit, in a Twitter post, he says, "My relationship with my Kashi is amazing, inseparable, and incomparable... it cannot be expressed in words!"
He further added, "I am overwhelmed and emotional! I did not even realize how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. Aaj Maa Ganga ne mujhe god le liya hai (today, Maa Ganga has adopted me)."
On Monday he held a rally in Varanasi along with JP Nadda, Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, as well as Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and CM Conrad Sangma. Also, senior leaders from the alliance party attended the roadshow.
A huge people of supporters were present for him and in a Twitter post he said,"The love and blessings my family members of Kashi showed during the road show became an unforgettable moment in my life."
Elections for Varanasi Lok Sabha take place on June 1.
