Parliament to Hold 32-Hour Special Discussion on Operation Sindoor: Kiren Rijiju
Kiren Rijiju added the opposition had requested a discussion of Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor prior to the beginning of the monsoon session.

On Monday, in the Lok Sabha, a special discussion on Operation Sindoor will take place and on Tuesday, it will be discussed in the Rajya Sabha, Union minister Kiren Rijiju said on Friday.
According to him, it was planned that the House will have a total of 32 hours, 16 hours each on the debate.

“The Business Advisory Committee has decided that a special discussion on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor will be held in the Lok Sabha on Monday,” Rijiju said.
“There are several issues the Opposition wants to raise, but we have agreed that Operation Sindoor will be taken up first,” he added.
Rijiju even added that even before the session started, oppressed parties including Congress, had written to the government directing it to the debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. “We conveyed to them that we are ready for the discussion,” he said.
However, he added, “The Opposition began disrupting proceedings from day one and protested both inside and outside the House. We could pass only one Bill in the first week. I appeal to the Opposition not to stall the House. They may raise every issue under the rules. It's a loss for the country if Parliament doesn’t function.”
There could be no aspect of doubt, he said, that proceedings would be instituted to impeach Justice Yashwant Varma in Lok Sabha.

On Friday, Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die as protests by the Opposition on the issue of revision of electoral rolls in Bihar continued and the entire first week of the Monsoon session was washed out.
No important legislative business was in demand on the Fifth successive day.
Deputy Chairman Jagdambika Pal scolded some Opposition members hours later when the House was in session again at 2 pm by criticizing them over constant disruption even though the government was apparently ready to address every question.
“Nobody is benefiting from this ruckus. People have sent you to raise their issues, you are disrupting the House. Getting the House adjourned is not an achievement, it is a matter of concern and the whole country is harmed by it,” Pal said, speaking to the MPs who had ran in the Well of the House, shouting slogans against Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and seeking a discussion.
