The day is also known as Padma Ekadashi and Parsva Ekadashi.

Parivartini Ekadashi Date
The event will start on 13 September 2024 at 10:30 pm and will end on the next day 14 September 2024 at 8:41 pm during the shukla paksha of the month of Bhadrapada which is September to August in the Georgian Calendar hence Parivartini Ekadashi will be celebrated on 14 September. It occurs during the Chaturmas period when Vishnu has been asleep for 4 months now. Udayatithi has importance in Hinduism, hence Parivartini Ekadashi will be celebrated on 14 September.
Parivartini Ekadashi significance
Due to its occurrence in a period of Chaturmas when Vishnu has been asleep for 4 months according to mythology he takes a turn from his right side to his left side. It is considered a very important duration and the event is utilized in charity, fasting, meditation, and other religious activities.
Devotees believe that those who observe this fast with full dedication are blessed with good health, wealth, and happiness. Donating and helping others will remove all sins from the devotees and help them grow spiritually. The significance of Parivartini Ekadashi is explained in a conversation between Dharmaraj Yudhishthira and Lord Krishna in ‘Brahma Vaivart Purana’.

He told Yudhishthira that there was a Rakshasa named Bali who was devoted to Vishnu he was good to Brahmins and Cows and used to do Yajnas which gained him immense strength from Vishnu. Due to some quarrel with Indra he fought a war against him and won and became the king of heaven, in distress he went to Vishnu and asked for a solution, Vishnu in order to help Indra turned into a dwarf Brahmin Vamana and asked him for the land his 3 steps could cover, Bali underestimating the dwarf he agreed and then the dwarf Brahmin Vamana covered, heaven and earth with his 2 steps turning gigantic in size Bali realized the rahman was Vishnu himself he asked him to step on his head for his 3rd step and so what happened. Later Bali accepted his mistake and built an Idol of Vanama to worship.
Parivartini Ekadashi Ritual
Devotees should fast and pray starting from Ekadashi Tithi, aiming for happiness, prosperity, and the divine abode of Vaikuntha Dham, and breaking the fast during Parana time. And doing a lot of charity during the period of time.
