Manipur: The bodies of two men were discovered in Jiribam, Manipur on Tuesday morning, a day after an encounter in the district in which 10 militants were reportedly shot dead.
According to police, three women and three children have been unaccounted since the clash on the previous day. IGP (operations) I K Muivah commented that action is being taken to recover the lost individuals.
Rescue operations were conducted in the Jakuradhor Karong area where sakthong forces burned some shops. The society retrieved the bodies of two males Laishram Balen and Maibam Kesho from the wreckage.

To prevent any such incidents in the area, the Jiribam district administration has imposed prohibitory orders.
A curfew has been imposed from 5 am on Tuesday in Kuki-Zo majority areas in the hills where they have taken to the streets against the gunfight that led to the death of suspected terrorists.
The police said the deceased, who were claimed to be militants, had come yesterday dressed in combat uniform and carrying sophisticated guns.
They claimed that the assailants shot randomly and periodically at a police station and a CRPF camp located next to each other in the Jiribam district.

In the gunbattle, two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force were also injured.
On Tuesday morning the condition in Jiribam was reported fair, although policemen were present at vulnerable areas, while tensions were present, according to PTI.
After the shooting in Manipur, new outbreaks of violence occurred in many parts of the Imphal Valley, where armed formations of both sides clashed.
Flushing out the militants was in the course of the action and in the areas that were disturbed; reinforcement teams made up of the Assam Rifles, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had been sent.
Manipur has recently been plagued by violent ethnic conflict between the Meiteis and the Kukis. Violence has caused numerous deaths and forced thousands of individuals to relocate.
