Over 60 Students Hospitalised After Dinner at Telangana State‑Run Residential School in Nagarkurnool
The girls had been hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach ache.

More than 60 students of a state-run Girls Residential School in Nagarkurnool district in Telangana complained of vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach ache after dinner and they died due to a tragic incident reported PTI.
The officials added that after the complaints, the entire students were hospitalised instantly and 50 students among them were released, as per the report.
Furnishing further details, an official told PTI, that 64 students of the residential school in Uyyalawada became sick after they dined on Saturday night.
A health official commented that the girls had been admitted to hospital showing such symptoms as vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach pains.

The initial report highlighted that the curd in which the students had full helping was not fermented when the students introduced it in the body and thus health experts believe that this could be what made the students fall sick.
In the meantime, an inquiry has been launched to determine the cause of this event and food items and drinking water samples have been sent to undergo tests, the officials said, and the appropriate action will be taken thereafter.

Police said that in Karnataka, 10 students of a residential school were hospitalised after they developed stomach pain and other symptoms, in Mandya.
According to the police, the matter took place in K M Doddi in Maddur taluk. The students had been admitted in hospital after they reported being vomiting and having stomach pains after eating food that had been provided to them in the residential school on Friday morning.
"So far, we have not received any complaint in this regard. Looking at the seriousness of the issue, we will decide on taking further course of action," a senior officer said.

In Maharashtra, as well, three sisters of age 10, eight and five years died in Shahapur tehsil of the Thane district on Friday because of suspected food poisoning, PTI quoted the police.
An official of Khinavli police station told that the mother of the girls was put under custody of inquiry. The officials named the dead persons siblings as Kavya Bere (10), Diva Bere (8), and Gargi Bere (5) of Talepada Asnoli village. "We are treating this as a case of suspected food poisoning, but the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem reports are received," the official said.
The police further stated that the three sisters began to feel symptoms of food poisoning such as a severe stomach ache, vomiting and dizziness on 21 July and they were admitted at Shahapur Sub-District Hospital and subsequently transferred to hospitals in Mumbai and Nashik. On July 24, Kavya and Gargi succumbed and Diva died on Friday morning.
