Operation Sindoor: India’s Strong Warning to Pakistan – “If They Fire, We Fire”
The sources said India's stance post the May 7 strikes on terror infrastructure in PoK and other areas was that if Pakistan fires, India also fires.

Operation Sindoor: Even after the ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan, Operation Sindoor is a yet unfinished activity, according to sources.
According to the sources, the Prime Minister gave the armed forces a standing order to respond suitably to any misadventure by Pakistan.
"Operation Sindoor is not concluded, there is a new normal in India's response to cross-border terrorism," people familiar with the matter said.

According to PTI, the Prime Minister allegedly told the armed forces that "if they fire a bullet at us, we fire an artillery shell at them."
The sources held that India's posture after the May 7 strikes that targeted terror infrastructure in the Pakistani controlled territories would be: if Pakistan fires, India should return fire with greater force; if Pakistan stops, India would also stop.
New Delhi will not communicate with Islamabad except through the director general of military operations, and the sources said there were no other subjects for conversation.
“The Indus Waters Treaty is linked to cross-border terrorism. The treaty will be in abeyance as long as terrorism sponsored by Pakistan against India continues,” people familiar with the matter said.
The sources further said that India would increase the cost of cross-border terrorism.
PM Modi told US VP JD Vance in clear words that should Pakistan do something, there will be an even more devastating and stronger response. On that same night, Pak hit 26 sites, and thereafter, India retaliated very strongly. They even launched strikes on their bases: PTI.

The India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding
After days of hostilities following New Delhi's Operation Sindoor against terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Punjab, India and Pakistan reached an understanding for a ceasefire on Saturday.
Foreign secretary Vikram Misri said that the ceasefire understanding was supposed to commence at 5 PM IST on Saturday. And the moment the ceasefire came into effect Pakistan started to violate it through firing along the LoC and drone activities from Jammu and Kashmir down to Gujarat, i.e., down the entire International land border of both countries.
On Sunday morning, the authorities said, the matter remained under control and hostilities ceased. But the armed forces were still on high alert and had orders to deal fittingly with any violations.
