Operation Sindoor: Indian Army Destroys Terror Launchpads After Pakistan Drone Strikes, Shares Video

Operation Sindoor: The Indian Army has destroyed multiple terrorist launchpads located near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The targeted strikes came in response to a wave of drone attacks and cross-border escalations initiated by Pakistan in recent days, the Ministry of Defence confirmed on Saturday.

The Army shared video footage of the precision strikes conducted on Friday. The targeted sites had long been under surveillance for their role in enabling infiltration and planning terror attacks against civilians and security forces in India.

"The Indian Army's swift and decisive action has dealt a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities," the Army said in a statement.

Taking to X, the additional directorate general of public information (ADG PI) stated that the operation was aimed at pulverising and razing these launchpads to cinders, dealing a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities.

"OPERATION SINDOOR. Indian Army Pulverizes Terrorist Launchpads," the ADGPI announced on X and

"As a response to Pakistan's misadventures of attempted drone strikes on the night of 08 and 09 May 2025 in multiple cities of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, the Indian Army conducted a coordinated fire assault on terrorist launchpads, pulverizing & razing them to cinders. The terrorist launchpads, located close to the Line of Control, were a hub for planning and executing terror attacks against Indian civilians and security forces in the past. The Indian Army's swift and decisive action has dealt a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities," the ADGPI added.

Pakistan launched a series of drone attacks on Friday, targeting nearly 36 cities across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat for the second consecutive day. Among the targets was an air base in Awantipora, which, along with other attempted strikes, was successfully thwarted by Indian defence systems. Sources said that 15-20 blasts were heard during attempts to destroy the drone.

Multiple drones were reported over Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Pathankot, Amritsar, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Pokhran, while heavy artillery exchanges were witnessed along the Line of Control in areas such as Kupwara, Poonch, Uri, Nowgam, and Handwara.

In its latest press briefing over the unprovoked and failed attack by Pakistan, India said Pakistan had launched between 300 and 400 Turkish drones across locations from Leh to Sir Creek in its failed attempt to target Indian military installations.

Earlier, the Indian Army successfully thwarted a Pakistani drone attack in the early hours on Saturday, demonstrating India's robust air defence systems in the wake of Pakistan's blatant escalation along India's western borders.
