NSA Ajit Doval Warns After Operation Sindoor: ‘India Will Retaliate Resolutely if Pakistan Provokes Again’

NSA Ajit Doval Warns After Operation Sindoor: Hours after the Indian armed forces conducted airstrikes against terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, national security advisor Ajit Doval spoke with his counterparts in several countries that New Delhi has no desire to escalate tensions but will "retaliate appropriately" should Islamabad escalate tensions, news agency PTI reported quoting officials.
Doval briefed his counterparts in the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, and Japan regarding India's missile strikes against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Doval also reached out to Russia and France.

"NSA briefed his counterparts on actions taken and method of execution, which was measured, non-escalatory and restrained. He emphasised that India had no intent to escalate but was well prepared to retaliate resolutely should Pakistan decide to escalate," an official told PTI.
This briefing occurred immediately after India executed Operation Sindoor at nine sites.
Doval spoke with a range of national leaders including: US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK's Jonathan Powell, Saudi Arabia's Musaid Al Aiban, UAE's H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon, Japan's Masataka Okano.
"Contact was also established with Russian NSA Sergei Shoigu, Member of Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC Wang Yi and Diplomatic Adviser to French President Emmanuel Bonne," the official said.
Doval will remain in contact with his counterparts in the coming days.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian armed forces launched a strike Max deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir utilizing 'Operation Sindoor' on Wednesday morning.
External affairs minister S. Jaishankar also spoke to Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and foreign minister of Qatar, to discuss India's "targeted response to deter cross-border terrorism".
Sharing a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, “Good to speak to PM & FM @MBA_AlThani_ of Qatar. Discussed India's targeted and measured response to deter cross-border terrorism.”
US Secretary of State spoke to the NSAs from India and Pakistan on Tuesday (local time) and urged them to keep lines of communication open and avoid escalation.
"Earlier this afternoon, @SecRubio spoke to the national security advisors from India and Pakistan. He urged both to keep lines of communication open and avoid escalation," US Department of State said on X.
