A woman from Mumbai was killed when boulders fell from a mountain onto a taxi in which she was travelling with her husband in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi on Sunday.

The woman's husband and driver were injured in the accident that happened on the Chandigarh-Manali Highway near 4 Mile, Mandi.
According to police sources, the taxi was passing near Four Mile when heavy debris and rocks suddenly fell, shattering the vehicle. While Chanchal received minor injuries during the accident, the taxi driver has been seriously injured and has been referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Police officials said that the couple was coming from Manali. “They had arrived in Shimla on December 25 after which they visited Manali. On Sunday, when the accident occurred, the couple was on their way to Delhi,” a senior police official said, adding that the post-mortem of the deceased has been conducted.

The police were informed immediately and rescuers managed to extricate the passengers from the destroyed vehicle. Unfortunately, Priya had already succumbed to her injuries, said police.
The sudden landslide brought their journey to an abrupt halt and led to this unfortunate incident.
In an unrelated incident on Friday, a tragic accident occurred in Ghatkopar West, Mumbai, where a speeding tempo struck five pedestrians, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to four others.

As reported by ANI citing Mumbai Police, "A speeding tempo ran over five people in Chirag Nagar, Ghatkopar West, Mumbai, leaving one woman dead and injuring four others. The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The tempo driver, Uttam Baban Kharat, has been detained by the police, and the vehicle has been seized."
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Preeti Ritesh Patel, a resident of Ghatkopar West.
The injured individuals in the Ghatkopar West accident have been identified as 23-year-old Reshma Sheikh, 27-year-old Marufa Sheikh, 38-year-old Tofa Uzhar Sheikh, and 28-year-old Moharam Ali Abdul Rahim Sheikh.
Eyewitnesses reported that the public apprehended the driver immediately after the incident and handed him over to the Ghatkopar police.
