Muharram Traffic Advisory in Delhi; Kerala Declares Public Holiday
Muharram Traffic Advisory in Delhi: As India celebrates Muharram from Tuesday evening till Wednesday, July 17, Delhi traffic police have introduced an advisory for the Tazia processions on Muharram that will take place across Delhi.
As per the traffic advisory, from 9 pm on Tuesday a procession will take place from Chhatta Shahzad and will return to the same location. The precession will go through Kamra Bangash, Chitli Qabar, Churi Walan, Matia Mahal, Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazar, and Hauz Qazi then will return following the same route.
PTI further reported that another procession will take place from Old Police Chowki, Ashok Basti, and will go through Qutub Road, Khari Baoli, Lal Kuan, Hauz Kazi, Chawri Bazar, and Jama Masjid. The procession will return to the Old Police Chowki, Ashok Basti following the same route.
However, Tazia processions will also take place in parts such as East, Northeast, Shahdara, Northwest, Southeast, South, and West districts.

The PTI also reported that Tazias from Nizamuddin, Okhla, and Mehrauli will also be moved to Karbala.
Furthermore, the procession will take place again on Wednesday around 11 am and will gather at Kalan Mahal too, and will march towards Karbala, Jor Bagh. The procession will follow the same path as they did earlier.
As per the traffic advisory, during the Muharram, roads that you should avoid are Mathura Road, Ma Anandmayee Marg, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Road No. 56 near Anand Vihar terminal, Pankha Road, and Najafgarh Road from Zakhira to Kishanganj.
From noon to 9:30 pm, Jama Masjid Road, Chawri Bazar Road, Ajmeri Gate Road, Asaf Ali Road, Panchkuian Road, the outer circle of Connaught Place, Rafi Marg, Krishna Menon Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Barakhamba Road, Janpath, Sansad Marg, Tughlak Road, Ashoka Road, K G Marg, Lodhi Road, and Jor Bagh Road will expect intense traffic.

The traffic advisory further states that buses that are traveling to Ajmeri Gate will be detoured at Aram Bagh and then will go back through Chitragupta Road and Paharganj.
Buses that are traveling to New Delhi railway station will be discontinued from Aram Bagh.
Buses that are traveling to Connaught Place and the Central Secretariat will go through Mandir Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Udhyan Marg, and Park Street. These will stop at Udhyan Marg and will return through Kali Bari Marg.
From the East and Central areas, buses traveling to Connaught Place and the Central Secretariat will go through Sikandra Road and will conclude their journey at Mandi House. The buses will return from Bhagwan Dass Road and Tilak Marg Road.
However, On Tuesday, July 16, the Kerala government has already issued a public holiday because of Muharram. There is no official notice about any holiday on July 17.
