Officer Killed in Doda Terrorist Encounter: As per the official reports, at least four soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of J-K Police were seriously injured in a search operation at the Doda district forest area of Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, reports stated that these four personnel died from the effects of the severe injury, also including the major rank officer.

The operations took place around 7:45 pm in the Desa forest area at Dhari Gote Urarbagi when the forces of Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group of J-K Police launched a joint cordon and search operation began a joint search operation.

The encounter began when a group of terrorists also including foreign terrorists started open fire at the search forces in the Desa forest area. The firing was carried out for more than 20 minutes.

Sources said that a total of five personnel were severely injured and only one survived, the rest all died from their injuries.

However, since then there has been no firing report till now, but additional soldiers are still there in the area.

The official said that the terrorists could be a group of six or even more than that including many foreign terrorists. Sources stated that the search operations were launched after when they got news that the terrorists might be present in the area.

As part of the action, nearby units like the 26 RR and the 9 RR have been brought in, along with a special forces team, drones, and helicopters to help with the search.

A spokesperson said that there are not much details provided by the security forces.

In a tweet on its official X handle, the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps wrote, “Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by #IndianArmy and JKP was in progress in General area North of #Doda.”

“Contact with terrorists was established tonight at about 2100h in which heavy firefight ensued. Initial reports suggest injuries to our bravehearts. Additional troops have been moved into the area. Operations are continuing.”

Reports further stated that the terrorists might have moved to a different location and to find them search operation in vast scale are being executed by the forces.

However, last week a major operation like this was carried out in Kathua, and around five personnel were killed after terrorists attacked security trucks carrying the troops.
